Mike Tyson reveals strategy to beat Wladimir Klitschko – Boxing News
Even though he retired, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson still has that boxing spirit in him, which led him to become the youngest world heavyweight champion. In his recent interview, Mike Tyson spoke about what needs to be done in order to defeat the apparently ‘invincible’
Wladimir Klitschko.
Wladimir Klitschko, who currently is the WBC and the IBF world heavyweight champion, is known as ‘Dr. Steelhammer’ and is considered among the fiercest fighters of all time. Many top-notch fighters have collided with Wladimir but they have all failed to
knock him down. On this, Mike Tyson has a technique, which he thinks can bring the tall one down. According to Tyson, constant movement and penetration is required in order to crush Wladimir. He said, "You would have to fight Klitschko like a Joe Frazier or
Henry Armstrong. Come in behind the jab. Move your head all the time. Get inside and stay there. And when he misses, make him pay with devastating counter punches. It would be very physical.”
Wladimir recently knocked out French fighter Jean-Marc Mormeck to earn his career’s 50th knockout and to defend his titles on Saturday afternoon. Mormeck was knocked out in the fourth round and the fight seemed a mismatch for him.
Mike Tyson, who went through several career devastating controversies during his time, still is known for being the most aggressive and speedy boxer in boxing history. He is also ranked number 1 for having the strongest punches. Unfortunately, no boxer today
has the skills, power and temperament of Mike Tyson. For him it might be easy to face a giant like Klitschko and bring him down, but for other it is not. It should be noted here that Mike Tyson was once considered next to Ali ‘The Greatest’ but his era ended
sooner than anyone could imagine. Tyson’s last fight was against Lennox Lewis in 2002, in which Tyson suffered an eighth round knockout via right hook by Lewis.
Today, Tyson spends his life as a retired boxer who is still world renowned for his achievements and potential. Other fighters should definitely look at his ‘strategy to defeat Klitschko’ to know how to do get the job done.
