Mike Tyson thinks Floyd Mayweather is better than Manny Pacquiao – Boxing News
Former World Heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson favoured Floyd Mayweather Jr. over Manny Pacquiao in his recent interview. According to Tyson, Mayweather will dominate Pacquiao and emerge victorious if the super-fight ever happens.
Tyson said, “I have to go with Floyd. (He) Should be a 2-1 or 3-1 favorite.”
‘Iron Mike’ was then asked for his views over the issues Mayweather and Pacquiao faced while they were trying to set the match. Tyson replied, “If you need one man to get two men in the ring and fight each other, they're not men. They should want to fight
each other. I don't know if they will fight, or why they won't. I'm not in their heads. There may be a financial strategy at play, some kind of rights we're not thinking about.”
Tyson said that they both should be man enough to set the match themselves instead of relying on others. He said that if they both cannot get things straight then they are not interested in fighting each other.
He further said, “Some guys are afraid to lose, and they think once they lose there's nothing left. That zero is their security blanket.” Probably this statement was intended towards Mayweather who has remained unbeaten to date.
He then spoke about himself and said that he wanted to make a mark and be the best in the world. He even said that back then he used to think of himself as the best fighter God has ever created and that no man could have beaten him. He said that he could
not relate himself with Mayweather and Pacquiao since he was in a completely different era.
Tyson added that some boxers today are more interested in money than fighting but back in his time, he was least bothered about how much money he is making. He said all he and other fighters of his time wanted was to fight regardless of how much money they
are making.
Lastly, he said that by looking at Mayweather’s profile, he seems to be the better one between the two, however Pacquiao is full of surprises and you can never say anything for sure with him.
