bleed profusely cause the referee to stop the fight, Tyson by TKO or Jerry survive the early attack and come back to stop Tyson like he did Earnie Shavers? Which scenario is more likely to happen?

  1. I remember Quarry fighting and really he was a light heavyweight and wouldn't last 3 rounds against Mike Tyson, one of the most devastating punchers in heavyweight history,Quarry not in the same class!Regard he idiots comments above about Danny Williams,I remember Williams before and after saying he beat a past it Mike and was honored to be fighting in the same ring,so did the Irish fighter Macbride,so your comments about Tyson are grossly unfair Blogbabba and you want to study boxing a bit more as your obviously new to the sport.Tyson KO round 4.

  2. In their prime?

Tyson would go through Quarry like a knife through

    butter. No contest.

(Quarry really wasn't very good, after all).

  3. Cuts usually occur when a fighter has taken punches in a certain area previously.   They can happen with one punch but it is much more likely to happen after a few punches.

That said,  Quarry probably would not suffer many cuts because he would not be around long enough to suffer them.  People dont seem to understand that Quarry, though tough, is a bit overrated.  True he fought some of history's best heavyweights.  However, he lost to all of them.

Styles make fights.  Quarry doesn't have the speed to trouble or escape Tyson.  He does not take a punch well enough to survive for long.  He's tough but there is a limit to what he can take.

Tyson would do everything Forman would do only faster.

    Tyson by KO in 2

  4. .If he fought Tyson before Tyson was champion. Quarry might be able to box Tyson to win a Decision. He was a smart fighter with a great chin seldom seen, and a wicked counter puncher and a guy that wouldn’t back up, I could see him winning a rough ugly fight against Tyson. But like all Quarry’s championship fights he would most likely come up short.

Muhammad Ali, or Ernie Shavers, I can’t remember witch, possibly Joe Frazier said Quarry was the best heavyweight to never win a Champion hip title.

I think by allot of these replies not too many people have seen Quarry actually fight. Quarry was not just a big brawler, the boy could counter punch with the best of them, He could roll punches.

Quarry Took apart Ernie Shavers in 1 round, a man who was a tough, iron chined heavy handed puncher who was bigger then young Mike Tyson. The reason he was able to beat a fighter Like Shavers was because he would let him throw and then counter with big left hooks.

Tyson had an easier time smacking big heavyweights around the ring. The reason he was so effective was because the big guys were so slow Tyson could get and deliver his punches and bob and weave out of the way of theirs.

Thats not an easy feat to do against someone faster then you and your height. Quarry had the style to give Tyson troubles. And Tyson would usually fade down the stretch.

For Tyson to win hed have to catch Quarry with some great shots early. But again Quarry was a lightheavy or cruiserweight not a true heavyweight.

This fight for me aint a certainty either way.

Realistically I would go with Tyson, but my heart would say Quarry would pull off the upset, stopping Tyson late or winning a Decision.

And to respond to the Blogs comment which tells me he dosn't know as much as he lets on, maybe im wrong it happens. But to say Qaurry could beat him because Danny Williams or McBride could??? Thats got to be one of the dumbest comments.

Tyson was washed up after Holyfield, h**l Tyson wasnt Tyson since the late 80's. In The Williams fight he blew his knee out and then just gave up. McBride and Williams were just the vultures that picked Tysons bones clean. Thats like saying Muhammad Ali wouldn’t beat a Kirk Johnson because he lost to Berbick.  COME ON BLOG!! You’re a top contributor you shouldn’t be making silly comments like that.

Tyson lost to a S****y heavyweight earlier in his career too named Buster, but even Douglas was head and shoulders above Williams and McBride

If you guys that claime to know boxing keep putting **** like that up im going to call you out on it.

  5. A prime Tyson would beat him like Joe Frazier. Tyson was a bigger, quicker and stronger version of Frazier with out the heart.

  6. Tyson would Beat him like a red headed stepchild, hopefully he would not bite his ears off

  7. Mike Tyson, would tko Quarry inside of 2 rounds in a bloody mess.

  8. Jerry Is Right There To Be Hit.  Tyson Will Oblige.  Quarry Is Done In One.  Any Other Answer Here Is Wrong Homeys

  9. Tyson was a better finisher than Shavers. Quarry was tough and IF the fight got past 9 rounds, and if it was a 15 rounder, it might get interesting.

I think Tyson at his peak would take Quarry out within 3 or 4.

  10. You have to figure if guys like Danny Williams and Kevin McBride could KO Tyson, Quarry would easily destroy Mike.  I give the edge to Jerry Quarry in this one, he had more heart in his scar tissue than Tyson did in his whole body.   If Quarry could KO Shavers, Tyson would be a step down in competition.

  11. Tyson was faster more aggressive and much more accurate than earnie shavers, therefore there would have been blood very early on in the fight (quaary is known for getting cut easily) and tyson's style was all about drawing first blood so i think tyson would have won this fight by stoppage.
