Quarry was a tough customer, but not at all impossible to knock out. The one that I see as most similar in fighting styles to Tyson is Joe Frazier, and he knocked Quarry out on two separate occasions.

I think it would&#039;ve been a nasty and relatively short fight, where Quarry would&#039;ve tried to match Tyson in raw power and intensity, until suddenly finding out in the fourth or fifth that maybe it wasn&#039;t such a good idea after all. Tyson is harder to hit than most people know (a good defensive fighter), and I don&#039;t think Quarry ever had the precision needed to stop him.

Tyson wins on a TKO in the fifth - Quarry getting up against all odds (with Tyson watching in disbelief) after a vicious uppercut, but being stopped from going on by the ref.

Jerry Quarry was a brave fighter with a lot of heart, unfortunately he bled easily and his habit of trying to trade punches with opponents often worked against him on many occasions, he was not fast enough to handle tyson&#039;s speed,and he never fared well against peek a boo users like tyson and frazier, and Tyson&#039;s fast lateral movements would have been to much for him to handle, this fight would be a total mismatch for Quarry as Tyson was a fighter known for drawing first blood,this fight would have ended in a bloody mess, Quarry would bleed profusely before Tyson brutally knocks him out in the fourth round.

IMO...........at that and place, Tyson&#039;s style with the peek a boo and lightning speed combinations and hand power, it becomes another toe to toe Frazier/Quarry type fight with Tyson winning in a stoppage. Quarry was a never say die, tough fighter, but would be at his best fighting weight of only approx. 195 lbs. The referee or cuts would end this one. Both had limited 71-72&quot; reach so there wouldn&#039;t be a lot of jabbing. Quarry would be throwing his big left hook and right hand trying to overtake Tyson.  Tyson wins that battle too.
