Jake LaMotta was a middleweight. Are Louis and Tyson going to meet him at 165 lbs. ?

It's unfair to compare Tyson and Louis. Louis was great by the 1940s definition of the sport. If Mike met him in the 40s, he'd be 190 lbs. They didn't have HGH then.

Mike was great based on advanced training techniques Louis did not have.

Louis would be better today, but still possibly limited in his footwork, hard to tell.

A smaller Mike could still KO.

Louis never got hit by anyone like Mike.

No doubt who was a better man and champion, Louis.

Mike had a lot of obstacles.

My guess is Tyson.  Look up Jimmy Bivins for a peak at what Tyson might have been back then. Bivins had Joe's number.

Joe Louis is one of very top heavyweights, of all time. Mike Tyson was a myth. Louis ruled the heavyweight division for 12 years, taking on everybody. Mike ruled the heavyweight division during a down period for that weight class, for all of 3 a half yrs.

Tyson fought 2 all time great fighters (Lenox Lewis & Evander Holyfield) He got beat up pretty good in all 3 fights. During Tyson's "reign" he never beat any top "all time" oponents except for a 38yr old Holmes. He dominated weak oponents. He got dominated by Holyfield, yet old George Foreman lasted 12 rds with Holyfield, 17 yrs after his prime!

Tyson's greatness was a myth! Louis is a legend!

And Jake Lamotta was a middleweight??!

mike tyson all the way...everything went down the drain for mike when his trainer passed away who was also his mentor and to the joe that said that mike fought the best of all time  evander and lewis he fought them on his downhill
