  1. No, but one of the best. But what are you refering to as his prime???

I view Tysons prime as mid 80's before Cus Damatto died and before Kevin Rooney was fired and that d**k **** head peaice of **** thug gangster pimp Rory Holloway and legman John Horne along with King ruined him. They used him as a cash cow, then after their cash cow got beat by douglas and King could tell he was on his way down fast he set him up and got him put in prison so that when he came out he could make millions and millions and millions off a washed up Tyson putting him up against set ups and hasbeens. They seen how Holyfield had been performing lately and figured Holyfield was washed up but Holyfield had been wanting to fight Tyson before the Douglas fight and after. Holyfield would have beaten Mike Tyson at any point in his career. He just had his number.

But in Tysons mid 80's prime, he may not beat the Greats like Ali, Foreman, Norton, Holmes or Holyfield but he would give them some awful scary moments in the first half of the fight.

Guys with a ton of heart, will, chin, power, speed and boxing ability would beat Mike Tyson. In all his his fights he never came from being in trouble to come back and win the fight. He had a great chin but his heart was only anger deep.

  2. Tyson at his best was the greatest of all time..unstoppable!

Speed, Power and balance in a combination that had never been seen before - but I hope to see it again...because it was exhilarating to watch.

  3. in his physical prime he was not yet at his skillful prime. he could knock out anybody but could not yet outbox anyone. that has always been his problem, he is a devestating puncher but against a skillful fighter who is taller, decent jab, and does not try to trade shots his weakness in being a strategy fighter gets bigger and bigger. plus he didn't have great competition to measure during his 3 year reign.

  4. No. He's rated at number 20 by boxrec, which I think is about right for his in the ring record - lets leave aside the other issues for now!

  5. big show is taking down boxing losers

  6. In my opinion...no. Joe Louis best ever heavyweight boxer. Joe "The Brown Bomber" Louis, record of 69-3-0. Losses to max schmelling, Rocky marciano and ezzard charles. The loss to marciano was his last ever fight, he was out of his peak yet still fought bravely to an in form marciano. Great wins over schmelling and Jimmy braddock. so many wins over great boxers at a period which argueably was prime for heavyweight boxing.

  7. huh dont be so stupid Ali the best ever

  8. Yahoo sport readers list him at #9 of 10 greatest ever.

  9. He was a good fighter, but a real jerk. In my opinion, no one can compare to Muhammad Ali. He was the greatest.

  10. Tyson is one of the best misguide persons in boxing. But Ali was the greatest.

  11. Off the top of my head I can list those who would beat Tyson at his best.  Certainly Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, George Forman, Joe Louis, Lennox Lewis.

Tyson would be too big for Rocky Marciano.  However, if they lived during the same time with similar nutritian and training Marciano would be just a bit smaller but win by KO.

He finishes Frazier early or fails in the attempt and gets stopped late.

Few others would have much chance against Tyson at his best.  Some would but most others would fall.

  12. Best ever, no..........

He was definately one of the most exciting HW of all time though.

  13. Tyson was a very good boxer but i do not think he was the best ever

  14. Interesting fact about Tyson.  I was growing up in Brooklyn before his hey day.  You know how he earned his coin before his prime? Beating ladies (old and young) over the head for their purses.  He would sucker punch them square in the face.

    He got good practice.

  15. Yes John H,  Tyson did have a prime, and you are correct he got Ko'd in his prime (24yrs old). He got Ko'd several times after that as well.

    The best?  Not even close!
