  1. TYSON

  2. tyson easy knockout

  3. Tyson no doubt...

  4. Dempsey.  Mike Tyson didn't have the resistance to go into the deep rounds.  Unless he knocked him in the 1st to 4th round, it's Dempsey's fight.

  5. tyson would win KO in round 1. the style of fighting when dempsey fought would not hold up in modern boxing. in those days boxers held their hands low, and tyson would kill him.

  6. i have to say tyson only as ive never seen him live but read seen short chips he look as good as anyone as you could look good on a short clip.

i no he was good as we speek of him still.

id say tyson at his best and if i had to fight for my life and was aloud to pick some one  to help me tyson would be my pick,

not ail not rocky    just tyson

  7. tyson was all steroids and he fighted in a period that the great ex ussr boxers(who killed him in pre olympics of 1984) did not participate cause communism did not allow them and really no big names were back then!(the americans  he beated were a joke no kiddin)!to proove what i am saying is right , look an average overrated fellow american boxer(with no skills really) hollyfield, beated tyson twice(holly field is another one who got beat in olympics by an eastern german or ussr guy i think) so dempsey (who ofcourse is overrated too)i think would win cause he was more natural than mikey steroids tyson

  8. Tyson doesn't posses the intestinal fortitude to deal with an animal like Dempsey.

  9. Tyson would have retired Jack inside 3 rounds.Toughguy is the greatest answerer ever, ask James,Blogbabba,Aceman,Celtic Brawler,Maurice, they all know him VERY VERY well,he's simply the greatest!

  10. tyson, once i saw him hit so hard, the other guy's head flew into  the 18th row! what a beast!

  11. i pick dempsey.....he could always get up from a knockdown.

  12. For real? lol   15 rounds! Tyson is only going to need 1.

I know how about Tyson vs Elmer Fudd??? or s****. doo!

  13. Mike Tyson

    one punch knockout

  14. I dont think this fight is as clear cut as that. Anytime you put two quick, hard-hitting explosive fighters in the ring together, I'll pick the one who has the most heart, toughness, and willingness( and this goes to Dempsey.)

People tend to forget Dempsey had middleweight speed.  Other boxers, sports writers etc. could fill a book about Jack's speed. Dempsey was also very explosive. Dont get me wrong, i'm not saying Tyson wasnt quick, because he was. I'm saying so was Dempsey. Tyson may have a very slight lead in speed(?), but Jack had the faster feet.So in the speed department their close in being equal.

As far as power, both these guy's could bang and had brutal power in their punches. So, pretty even in the power department also.

Now, as far as chins go, Jack's is legendary, described as having a granite chin. In the Firpo bout, Luis had murderous power in his blows. One writer described Firpo as having "George Foreman like" power. And yet Firpo couldnt dent Jacks granite chin. (And this was when the gloves were lighter and thinner!) And Mike Tysons legendary chin-? Jack had the chin to Mike's shots, but did Tyson have the chin to take Jack's ?

Also, Mike at times displayed stamina problems, Dempsey did not. So with Jack's better chin and stamina, I see him having the better edge in a slug fest.

When Mike was hurt (And Jack WOULD hurt him.) Tyson would slowly start to fall apart at the seams. When Jack was hurt you had a wounded lion ready to maime and kill on your hands.

If Mike dropped Jack (And there's a good chance of it.) Dempsey would be back up. I think this could be a big discouragement for Tyson, seeing a man dropped with one of his big shots, and that man (Dempsey) right back up with intensity, ferocity and killer-instinct, and brutally hurting him in return. This could be a mental negative for Tyson. Jack has the advantage in this killer-instinct and huge will to win.

So one could as easily say, take away (Or down several notches.) Jack Dempsey's stamina, chin, and do or die attutide and you have Mike Tyson.

I'll take Jack by KO in the 8th.

  15. Jack Dempsey was everything Mike Tyson wanted to be

  16. Tyson's speed & power would have given him a KO win over Dempsey.   Dempsey was a great fighter but in his prime & with Kevin Rooney Tyson was unstoppable.   Someone said the 15 rounds would make the difference when Tyson was in his prime he never tired & this wouldn't have went 15 rounds anyway.

    Tyson by 10th round KO!!!!

  17. I don't know too much about Dempsey, but I'd find it hard to believe a throwback like him could beat a fierce Tyson of the late 1980's. BTW, they both have NY backgrounds.

  18. I'd take Dempsey in his prime. Dempsey was an absolute animal inside the ring and defeated quality opponents in his career.

Tyson was nothing but an over rated bully, who never beat a quality opponent in his career. He built his reputation by beating a bunch of nobodies and  once he was beaten by Buster Douglas, and exposed as the bully he was, he went straight downhill.

Dempsey would knockout Tyson inside of 4 rounds.

  19. Dempsey people that don't really follow boxing do not understand that when Tyson came to fame there were no good legit Heavyweights Douglas K.O.'d Tyson and he was a tomato can Holyfield was champ and he was just a mediocre crusierweight
