Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mikel-Arteta-c25715 has not given up hope yet and believes the Gunners can still turn around their four goal deficit to AC Milan in the Champions League.
The Gunners took on Milan at the San Siro, in the first leg of their Champions League clash and went on to lose by four goals to nil.
Goals from Kevin Prince – Boateng, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, as they are now looking for a miracle to help them turn the tie around.
Despite the nature of the tie, Arteta believes that the Gunners should keep a positive mind set and hope for the best, as just about anything is possible in football.
The Spaniard believes that the North London club can turn the tie around and all that they need is a little bit of luck and focus in the second leg at the Emirates.
Arteta, when talking about the second leg is quoted to have said: "Never say never in Football. If we score two goals in the first half at the Emirates then it is game on."
However, the midfielder also went on to comment on the state of the pitch, as he believes it was quite terrible to play on.
Even though the pitch was not what the team would have hoped for, he still insists that the team can’t be making any excuses at this point.
He then went on to add: "There is nothing we can do about the pitch. It was absolutely awful - you had no control at all. They are more used to it because they play here every week but I don't think we need excuses.”
"They were the better team and deserved to win. We go to London with a really disappointing result.”
The Gunner then talked about just how the mindset of the team changed, but revealed that the team needed to focus on their upcoming games, since they couldn’t let the defeat to Milan effect them in their other games.
"Everything became difficult after the first goal. They scored three goals on the counter-attack. It is difficult to take in and we have to change our mindset. We have another tough game on Saturday [at Sunderland in the FA Cup]."
On a number of occasions, Arsenal have gone on to bounce back from positions that everyone deemed to be impossible.
Given that the team is now in a similar situation once again, it is going to be rather interesting to see just how the team ends up performing this time around.
