Mikey Garcia wants Brandon Rios vs. Manny Pacquiao – Boxing News
Brandon Rios has surely become a boxing icon recently, following his knockout win over Mike Alvarado. He is now being considered the next big thing in the world of boxing, by fans, analysts and fellow fighters. Bob Arum of Top Rank gave birth to the idea
of a fight between Rios and Filipino fight sensation Manny Pacquiao and now the world is onto it. Recently, featherweight contender Mikey Garcia claimed that a fight between Rios and Pacquiao would an enthralling one for fans.
“It’s going to be a great fight for the fans,” said Garcia, who currently stands with 29 wins, 0 losses and 25 knockouts in his portfolio.
“I think Brandon will obviously win. I think he’s a better fighter than Mike. I think his strength will be what is going to change the fight. Brandon’s relentless; doesn’t stop,” predicted Garcia before Rios’ took on Mike Alvarado.
Garcia was right. Rios scored a seventh round knockout win over Alvarado at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
“The fight was going to be hard for anybody,” Garcia asserted on Monday, after watching Rios defeating Alvarado. “I felt that Brandon always picks up the pace as the rounds go by. I sparred with him before, so I know that he picks up the pace as the fight
goes on.”
Rios is definitely becoming a fight sensation. This year, we have seen two young fighters making it to the top, Danny Garcia and Brandon Rios. Both of them have exhibited their fight talents in a way that no one can deny the fact that they need are the future
of boxing.
Rios is already confident that he would defeat Pacquiao. According to him, Alvarado hits harder than Pacquiao and so defeating the former WBO welterweight titlist would be a piece of cake for him. Probably, Rios is underestimating the potential of the Pac-man.
The Filipino warrior is known for his capabilities of not letting his opponents rest in the ring. He is fast and he is aggressive, something Rios has not faced in the ring yet.
The fight is already being expected by many, and if things work out, next year we could see the super-fight happening.
