Mikhail Youzhny beats Yen-Hsun Lu 6-1, 6-0
Mikhail Youzhny of Russia crushed Yen-Hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei in straight sets to move to the third round of the Sony Ericsson Open on Saturday.
The Russian allowed his opponent to win just one game during the entire match, winning 6-1, 6-0 in a one-sided contest. Youzhny took just 53 minutes to oust his opponent.
The Russian broke his opponent twice in the opening set, clinching it 6-1. The 28-year-old fired in 2 aces and 57 per cent of the first serves in the first set. The right-handed converted 2 of the 7 break points he received in
the set. Youzhny did not face any break point in the first set.
The Russian did not allow Lu to win a single game in the second set, winning it 6-0. Lu managed to save just 3 of the 6 break points he faced in the second set.
Youzhny is drawn to face world number 89 Olivier Rochus of Belgium in the next round. Rochus defeated world number 24 Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 in the second round.

World number 7 Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic edged past world number 94 Ruben Ramirez-Hidalgo of Spain in three sets 6-1, 6-7(4), 6-0 in the second round
Berdych broke Ramirez-Hidalgo three times in the opening set, winning it 6-1. The Czech hit 3 aces and 50 per cent of the first serves. The right-handed won incredibly 100 per cent of the points on his first serves. Berdych converted
1 of the 4 break points he received in the first set.
In the second set, both players broke each other twice to level the score at 6-6, taking the set to a tie-break. Ramirez-Hidalgo took the lead in the tie-break to win it 7-4. The Spanish won the set despite serving pretty badly
as he did not hit a single ace and committed 5 double faults. The 33-year-old saved 1 of the 3 break points he faced in the second set.
After losing the second set with the smallest of margins, Berdych bounced back in the deciding set and completely demolished his opponent as he won six straight games to claim the final set 6-0. The Czech capitalized on 3 of the
9 break points he received in the third set. Berdych did not face any break point in the deciding set. The match lasted for 2 hours and 12 minutes.
The Czech will meet Argentinean Carlos Berlocq, ranked 72nd in the world, in the third round. The Argentine upset world number 31 Ernests Gulbis of Latvia  in three sets 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 in the second round.
