Mikkel Beck: VfL Wolfsburg’s Simon Kjaer is going nowhere – Bundesliga news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 defender Simon Kjaer is set to stay in Germany for the 2011/12 campaign. The player was linked with a move to AS Roma but Kjaer’s agent, Mikkel Beck, has rubbished off such talks.
He told that the centre back will be staying in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and tagged the transfer reports as nothing but rumours. He also confirmed the fact that the Italian side haven’t contacted him over his client’s transfer yet.
The agent was talking after Wolfsburg’s 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on Saturday. Kjaer took part in that game and also featured in the club’s opening week win over FC Koln on Saturday, August 6. Beck admitted the fact that Roma want to sign Kjaer but so
far no official contact has been made by the Italian outfit. He further told that the centre back has no problems in the country so far and it will be hard to lure him to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 during the summer.
Wolfsburg officials, meanwhile, have also denied Kjaer moving to Roma. They mentioned that the 22-year-old is an integral part of the squad and Die Wolfe have no plans of parting ways with the defender.
Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath added that the Denmark international was effective in both the games, and that interested clubs would have to pay exorbitant amount for his services. Magath wished to retain the youngster, citing him as one of his side’s brighter
prospects.
While talking to a local sports magazine, Beck further enthused, “I read the stories, but have had no concrete evidence of the links. Nobody from Wolfsburg has talked to me about an agreement with Roma. So far these are only rumours. All I can say is that
he is a Wolfsburg player and continues to focus on the Bundesliga. I have no appointments lined up with the club or with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603.”
Kjaer landed at Volkswagen Arena in 2010 and has 32 league games under his belt until now. He made his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 debut in 2009 and has 16 games to his name so far.
