Mikkel Kessler talks about his fight against Brian Magee – Boxing News
Mikkel Kessler, former two-time WBC Super Middleweight Champion and two-time WBA champion, will be facing Brian Magee at Jyse Bank BOXEN in Herning on December 8. Kessler, who stands with 45 wins, 2 losses and 34 knockouts, was present in Belfast today along
with his opponent Magee, who stands with 36 wins, 4 losses, 1 tie and 25 knockouts. They spoke to the media regarding their upcoming clashing.
“This place certainly has a history,” said Kalle Sauerland, promoter, who was present at the Europa Hotel, world’s most bombed hotel, along with his team members. “Just like Brian Magee has a history with the Danish sports fans. He has come over to Denmark
twice to eradicate two of their boxing heroes, Mads Larsen and Rudy Markussen. You have to give him credit for that. But twice is more than enough. Mikkel Kessler will put an end to his streak, set the record straight and win this fight for his country.”
Kessler was in a jolly mood. Contrary to the usual, he did not trash talk for his opponent, instead made it a mark to praise Brian Magee. “Well, I guess you can’t really compare the Titanic and Brian Magee,” said Kessler. He was reminded of the titanic that
was built just minutes away from the sport where Kessler was present. “Brian has already made a lot of successful trips abroad, and two of them have been to Denmark.
Although Kessler was being respectful, he made it a mark to boast about his own brand. According to the former champion, he is a better fighter than Magee, as he believes he is more powerful. Kessler added that he has never lost a fight in Denmark and it
would be no different against Magee.
He further added that with his fans behind him, he can defeat any opponent in the world.
On the other hand, Magee came up admiring Kessler, saying that the former champion is one of Boxing’s greats. According to Magee, both fighters have great respect for each other but once in the ring, it will be one ‘h**l of a fight’.
