Milagros Cabral’s campaign for 2012 FIVB World Grand Prix – Volleyball news
In the wake of 2012 FIVB World Grand Prix, which is scheduled to take centre stage on Friday, June 8, Dominican Republic’s veteran player Milagros Cabral is running an official campaign, in order to spread the word among local people and also to get the
support for local team.
The members of the Dominican Republic Women’s National Volleyball have also joined hands with Cabral in campaigning for the upcoming women’s premier international volleyball event.
The 2012 FIVB World Grand is just around the corner. A total of sixteen teams from all around the world will be on board to contest their skills in front of the bigger audience. The teams will play under the classification of four pools. Dominican Republic
is kept in the Pool B alongside teams from USA, Germany, and Chinese Taipei.
Dominican Republic is supposed to provide the backdrop for opening-week matches in Pool B, which will take place from June 8-10. The city of Santo Domingo is ready to host the world class action of volleyball.
That is why Cabral and the home team are seeking for fan support. The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has indeed created a great opportunity for Dominican Republic to take advantage of the familiar conditions during the first leg of the tournament.
It will surely enable the team to take a good start in the tournament.
Cabral, who is regarded as an FIVB hero, is head on heels to support the local team of Dominican Republic. In the recent memory, she stated, “I try to fulfil my responsibility in the Dominican Republic and also in the region of NORCECA. When I visit the
children nursery homes, I always think about my origins and hope to be somehow an inspirational model for them.”
She further added, “We have not played in our country since 2005 when the Pan American Cup was held here so it is very important the direct contact with the people. I am almost sure we are going to have full crowds during the next weekend and I feel very
proud to help that purpose as FIVB Hero.”
