Milan Jovanovic denies exit rumours
Liverpool forward Milan Jovanovic has reacted furiously to the suggestion that he is ready to quit the Anfield club, just four months after arriving. The Serb stated, "I am angry. I am
new here and all I'm trying to do is work and do what's best for the team.”
The 29-year-old has endured an unspectacular start to his Liverpool career, failing to really impress, although there isn’t one Liverpool player who could say differently, amidst their
torrid star to the season. Jovanovic did start the club’s first few games of the season, but has since dropped to the bench, leading to the exit rumours. But Jovanovic points out he is content at being on the bench, and that he understands the situation.

"It's not important that I am on the bench. I have signed a contract for three years and I want to stay for three years. I feel very good at Liverpool and better players than me sit on
the bench, whether it's here or anywhere else,” he said.
Arriving on a free transfer in the summer, Jovanovic also claims how he “...expected sometimes to be in the team and sometimes not,” as Liverpool is such a big club. However, he would
not have envisaged the club’s disastrous start to the campaign, which culminated in a humiliating defeat to Blackpool on Sunday.

The club is sat in the relegation at the moment, with their season ambition of claiming a top four spot, and a place in next season’s Champions League, in tatters.

Pressure is building on boss Roy Hodgson and he will need players such as Jovanovic to begin to show their best. The Serb has the quality to be a vital part of this Liverpool side, and
his flexibility to play either as a winger or a striker will be a huge asset to the side in their attempts to climb the table.
