Milan Kadlec leads the 2012 Tour of Taihu lake stage 7 overall classifications
Milan Kadlec of Team ASC Dukla Praha continuous his consistent performance at the ongoing Tour of Taihu Lake and further strengthened his overall position after the stage 7 general classifications.
He finished the 114.1 kilometre chase to Shengze in an impressive time and managed to occupy the 23rd position at the stage.
Kadlec is now leading the stage 7 classifications with a total lead of 10 seconds over Floris Goesinnen of Team Drapac Cycling.
Alexander Serebryakov of Team Type 1-Sanofi has now dropped down from the second to the seventh overall spot after losing important time during the seventh stage.
"It was a very strange sprint," noted Kadlec. "It was not organized at all because the sprint started when the breakaway group got caught with 500 metres to go".
Ki Ho Choi of Team Hong Kong is 15 minutes behind Kadlec at the third spot with David McCann of Team RTS Racing and Thomas Vaubourzeix of Team La Pomme Marseille occupying the fifth and the sixth positions respectively
Jullien Sebastien of Team China Jilun Cycling wins the seventh stage of the race after finishing the race in a total time of 2 hours, 27 minutes and 8 seconds with Benjamin Giraud securing the second position.
"It was a dangerous sprint. Many riders here come from the track and don't have the right attitude,” Giraud described.
“I was well positioned behind my lead out man Yannick Martinez but I lost his wheel with 500 metres to when there were waves in the peloton at the time of the regrouping with the escapees”.
“I had no choice but sprint from far out. However, Jullien was already ahead".
Ki Ho Choi of Team Hong Kong is leading the young rider classifications after the stage 7 while King Lok Cheung of Team Hong Kong and Robbie Hucker of Team Drapac Cycling holding the second and the third positions respectively.
Benjamin Giraud of Team La Pomme Marseille leads the point’s classifications with a maximum number of 56 points in his bag.
Alois Kankovsky of Team ASC is at the second position with 52 points while Sebastian Korber (46 points), Alexander Serebryakov (45 points) and Leonid Krasnov of Team Rusvelo (44 points) holding the next three positions after the Tour of Taihu Lake point’s classifications.
