Milan and New Years eve?

What area are the free concerts in? Any recommendations for hotels around $100 in that area? Thanx

if you want to spend your time in a club you may find many in milan. the ones listed in the other answers are a good examples.

yet if you prefer to have an open new year's eve, i.e. out in the city streets...well choose another city. milano is got a pretty bad place.

hotels: that depends on your expectations. if yours are pretty low i assume you may find whatever place such as a best western hotel or similar pretty close to the city center. otherwise choose some business hotel in the suburbs such as the Royal Garden in assago (90€ ab.) which however is quite far from the center.

finally i'm not aware of any free concert. in short, my suggestion: go somewhere else. ciao

Venere.com is a good site for booking hotels in Italy. http://en.venere.com/hotels_venice/ You can sort by price, location in the city, guest rating, and other criteria. There are also reviews by past guests that can help you know what to expect. $100 is low for Milan, especially during New Year's - you might try places close to the train station.

Alcatraz has a big New Year's party, but it's not free. There are many other clubs that will also hold events.

Actually, the place to be in Italy for New Year's is Rome - there's a huge, free event in Piazza del Popolo
