http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adriano-c3773 Galliani, AC Milan Vice-President, reiterated that their star striker would not be leaving the club and stated that they are not interested in Silvestre.
Matias Silvestre had been linked with a move to the Milanello giants following the impending departure of their star defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903. PSG had offered Milan a sum which would have accumulated to 50 million Euros over the
course of time.
Milan have had financial constraints, which has seen them offload many of their stars from their roster. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Flamini-c24685 signed on
to a reduced pay package, which sees him earn 1.6 million Euros a year. This is a much lower salary package than the 4.5 million Euros a campaign he had previously been on.
Thiago Silva was being offered 7.5 million Euros at the Parisian outfit, however, Milan thought against the transfer of the club captain and the move fell through. Silva’s agent demanded for a rise in pay for the defender, given
that he was being paid 3 million a year at the club.
The Rossoneri revised his salary and bumped it up to 6 million Euros which makes him the second highest earner at the club behind their mercurial forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029.
Ibrahimovic’s representative, Mino Raiola, cheekily suggested that the striker might be tempted into a move away from the San Siro, and stated that his future was at the club’s disposal.
Galliani was giving an interview to Sky, and during his briefing, he firmly stated that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015 captain would be staying with the club and they had no intention of releasing him. He was quoted to have said:
“Ibrahimovic will definitely remain a Milan player, there is no problem with him.”
When quizzed over the possible transfer of Silvestre to the club, Galliani distanced himself from any such move by stating that the club already had enough defenders, and were not in search for any others. The Italian went on to
state:
“We’re not interested in Silvestre because we have Thiago Silva. With Silva we have found an agreement [on a new contract] that satisfies both parties.”
Galliani commented that he was not worried about other players making higher demands.
