Granero has seen little to no playing action in the current campaign with Los Blancos, making a measly 8 appearances. It looks likely that the Spaniard will move away from the Spanish capital in the January transfer window, despite the
12 minutes awarded to him in Copa del Rey El Clasico.
Following his infrequent displays with Madrid, reports in the Italian media have linked the attacking midfielder with a move to AC Milan.
The Rossoneri have added Alexander and Djamel Mesbah to their first team roster; however, manager Massimo Allegri is still on the lookout for possible additions. Milan currently trail Juventus by a single point, and the former Cagliari
manager wants to reinforce his squad for the second half of the season.
Securing the signing of Granero will be a stiff task with the club attracting plenty of interest across Europe. Arsenal, Liverpool and Malaga have all been pursuing the player for a long time now.
The player’s agent recently confirmed that the Real Madrid star could be on his way to Anfield as Kenny Dalglish is widening his midfield options. Granero’s agent added that the players want more first team action and can leave if they
continue to dry up.
"He's finding his chances limited at Real," Lazaro told The International Business Times. "If he can't play at Madrid, then he'll play somewhere else. It's as simple as that.
"He's keen for a move away - possibly to Liverpool."
Granero is held in high regard in the coastal city, with Pellegrini a known admirer of his abilities. The Chilean manager brought him back to Santiago Bernabeu for 4 million Euros, after the Spaniard spent two years with Getafe.
