The legendary striker has gone on to state that he is positive about the chances of his former employers progressing from the Champions League group stages.
The Rossoneri outfit have come under a lot of pressure for their recent performances and many have stated that the lack of champions in the squad is beginning to hurt the team. The Rossoneri outfit succumbed to a humiliating defeat on the opening day of
the season as they lost out to the newly promoted Sampdoria by 1-0.
They only secured victory on the second match day of the season and have only collected three points from a possible nine points in the Lega. This has seen them languishing close to the mid table, and their performances in the League have caused a lot of
distress and unhappiness to their fans. There are always rumours floating that the head coach and the Vice President of the club are at odds with each other over the ambitions and the squad that the club has at their disposal.
The media is keeping a keen eye on the workings of the pair and Galliani and Allegri always seem to be refuting any suggestions of a rift. These uncertain circumstances have led many pundits and fans to fear that the Diavolo outfit would not be able to progress
past the group stages of the tournament.
Super Pippo has rubbished all such claims and stated that the team had enough quality in them to reach the round of 16, and the fans should not be excessively worried about the negative hype created in the media.
Milan are in a group featuring Zenit St Petersburg, Malaga and Anderlecht; and Inzaghi went on to state:
“Milan are favourites to qualify from the group, then I’d put Zenit. Saying that, it is a group which should not be underestimated. And I didn’t expect Malaga to be so strong.”
The Rossoneri had their match against Anderlecht, which they drew 0-0, at the San Siro. This result was not received well by the fans of AC Milan and they jeered the players for not playing to their potential.
