Mild to Moderate Anemia??

After a few blood tests, I found out that I have a slightly low red blood count of 3.8, a somewhat low hemoglobin level (128) and also a somewhat low level of iron or ferritin (34). The doctor has ruled out "severe anemia," but won't say what I have (if anything) until she gets the rest of the blood test results. Any predictions or speculations?

I'll post the results of my other blood tests when I receive them.

  1. Anemia can be caused by many different things, but you will probably be put on an iron supplement to replenish your body. Also try to eat a lot of high-iron foods.

  2. You are just a little short of iron in your body, apparently. And iron happens to be THE important substance to help in forming haemoglobin, the main structure in the red blood cells.

If all goes well, and hopefully, your physician fails to find any other reason for your mild/moderate anaemia, all you need to do is improve your diet in iron, and perhaps start an oral iron supplement.

PS:If you are bleeding from anywhere, no matter how insignificantly, tell that to your doctor -its important.
