  1. Below is the Mexican govt site that calculates distances- it is by far the most accurate tool for Mexico road trip calculations.  It's in Spanish but easy to figure out.

    I just did the reverse of this road trip last week and it was really great.  I did a brief blog of the trip and am getting ready to add photos so you might find it helpful.

    One thing to consider are the toll roads- they are pretty expensive, but much quicker and less curves.  On the other hand, the "free roads" allow you to see much more.  We split the trip- we took the free road past San Blas and then hopped the toll road to quicken the trip.
