Milestone Apache in form for bagging the Ladbrokes Summer Festival Dogs 480 – Heat 3 at Monmore
Monmore will host the third heat of the Ladbrokes Summer Festival Dogs 480 over 480 metres flat on Monday, 18th June. Competing for the £175 prize money are Clarecastle Dub, Freedom Chief, Bit View Micko, Milestone Apache, Bowtime Regan and Pats
Legacy.
The most accomplished and lightly raced candidate on the line-up is Milestone Apache, Head Bound’s two-year-old black son out of b***h, Boozed Libby. The current season marks the debut season for him.
He bagged a hat trick right through the first three races of the career. He won a 480 metres race at Monmore on 10th April by completing the trip in 28.70 seconds and leading the runner up, Toms Lil Jack, by 1 ¼ lengths.
His success continued as he bagged a 480 metres race at Hall Green on 18th April by covering the track distance in 29.15 seconds. He led by ¾ of a length and had Fridays Daryl finishing the closest.
The Tachodisc Trophy was the final strike for the hat trick on 24th April at Hall Green over 480 metres. He settled the affair in 28.78 seconds and took charge of the final three and a half lengths.
Qualifying as the runner up was Holdem Spy while filling up the third slot was Killishin Alien.
In order to keep the consistency intact, Milestone Apache was drilled over 470 metres on 3rd May at Belle Vue which he closed on in 28.17 seconds. It did not help as much as was expected because the two-year-old ended second in the next two races
and then finally grabbed a race.
On 19th May he came second in the Ladbrokes.Com 480 at Monmore by making it to the other end of the wire in 28.42 seconds and was left a drift by two lengths.
Eventually he won the first division of the Ladbrokes.Com 416 on 26th May at Monmore over 416 metres by completing the trip in 24.51 seconds. He kept the 7/4 favourite runner up of the race at bay by a short head’s difference.
Milestone Apache proved his potential right at the beginning of the career and did not let the benchmark go down the second position. Coming right out of a training session has enhanced his chances of capturing the race tonight.
