Milestone Apache to nail the Ladbrokes.Com 480 at Monmore on 19th May
The hound with the best credentials for the Ladbrokes.Com 480 at Monmore over 480 metres flat on Saturday, 19th May is Milestone Apache. Head Bound’s two-year-old black son out of b***h, Boozed Libby, is a very lightly raced hound.
The £150 prize money event will be contested by White Coat, Wally Billy, Penrhiw Guto, Wheelers Whisper and Cleveland Peter.
Milestone Apache has raced four times through his debut season and out of those he has won the first three races and thus has already struck the seasonal hat trick. He got drilled twice during the season, at the beginning and then right before the fourth outing of the season.
He was drilled over 260 metres on 29th March at Belle Vue. The two-year-old managed the distance in 15.36 seconds.
Milestone Apache then bagged the seasonal debut on 10th April at Monmore over 480 metres. He timed the track distance in 28.70 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Toms Lil Jack, by 1 ¼ lengths.
He then went on to capture the very next race of his career. On 18th April he clocked the 480 metres in 29.15 seconds at Hall Green. Finishing the closest to the winner was Fridays Daryl who leapt through ¾ of a length by which Milestone Apache led.
His third outing of the season was in the Tachodisc Trophy on 24th April at Hall Green over 480 metres. He reached the other end of the wire in 28.78 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Holdem Spy, by three and a half lengths.
It took Holdem Spy 29.06 seconds to join the winner on the other end.
Killishin Alien settled third behind the winner while the 11/8 favourite of the race, Toms Lil Jack, ended fifth.
This victory entitled him to the seasonal hat trick.
In order to keep the level of performance intact, the trainer, J. Bateson, thought better of it and trained the dog over 470 metres.
Till yet the last race that Milestone Apache was part of saw him qualifying as the runner up. On 12th May, the 480 metres race at Wimbledon was won by Granard Bound who timed the distance in 28.73 seconds.
He has the highest of the chances to stamp the race tonight.
