Hi everybody! First off my fiance is active duty Air Force so I know we can use the chapel.

Has anybody used the chapel and reception hall on base? Do you know about what they charge?

Thank you =)

  1. I'm interested to know the answer to this too ... but is the chapel and hall nice on base?  I guess all these answers depend on what base you are talking about too.

For me it is Trenton (Ontario, Canada)

  2. Yes, you can use the chapel.

Secondly, the reception facilities are extremely nice and very unexpensive.... use your HTB benefits ... you can have a top of the line reception for pennies on the dollar. You need to ask for your base's MWR office and inquire about the facilities. There should be an officer's club and an NCO club. Nowadays, anyone can use either. They banquet facilities are extremely cheap and they have the best food... with the staff salaries included.  All chairs and linen are included, there are no taxes as everything on post is tax free. The rates will depend of you rHTB rank. Typically E1-E4 will get the cheaper rates.

Yes, some bases (depending of the security level) require door registration. Most bases simply rquire for the guests to come through the gate, tell them where they are going and they will isnpect the car, ask for the car;s registration and uinsurance and photo ID for all the people in the car. After the inspection, they will issue the guests a day pass. Those are the rules for most bases, granted you have already contact the gate authorities and the MWR office about your special event. Granted that your base doesn't have any restrictions/confidential/secret stuff in it... you'll be fine.

    Good luck

  3. We used the chapel and the officer's club on our AF base. The club was free to use  ( not including food and drink of course), and they were very helpful in all of the planning

  4. I don't know if this is base-specific, but there was a girl on this board 2 days ago that had a dilemma regarding her upcoming military-base wedding.  It seems that the rules changed for allowing civilians into the base for special events, so she had to get every guests full, legal name, birth date, and the state their drivers license was issued in, if they were over 16. She had to add an extra card to her invites requesting they mail back the required information with their RSVP, just so they would be allowed into their wedding.

It seems like kind of a pain in the butt to me.

I don't know if those types of rules apply to all military/navy bases, and I don't really know much other details of her story, but I just thought I would pass along her experience.
