Military Recruitment?

Question

my friend wants to know, if he has a record of him when he was 16 at the time of him exposing him self could he get into the military???? he was never charged with it, its not on his background check but on his background check threw the dept of child and familes.......can some one please help him????

I don't know how it is now. When I joined the recruiters were extremley honest with me.

I originally tried to join the Air Force. They wouldn't take me because of traffic tickets. The Air Force recruiter was helpful in my final choice.

I suspect it has to do with how well the recruiter is meeting his goals.

I have heard of kids getting in with more than that on their record. He just needs to be upfront with his Recruiter and tell him.

Not all Recruiters forget about their kids once they are in. The Marine Recruiters in this area meet with ALL their poolees once a week and talk to them during the week as well they even come and hang out in the office. I have gone to the office and spent time with them. My husband gets letters from Boot Camp from the Recruits he put in as well as periodic calls from them afterward as well as calls from the parents. Recruiter is not necessarily a dirty word.....

It shouldnt be a problem, if anything i believe it would be a misdemeanor.  However he would definantly need to talk to the recruiter about it.  It probably wouldnt help him get a security clearance but they have allowed much worse things.  In any case it would not hurt for him to goto the MEPs and talk to the screening personel if the recruiter cant help you.

If the recruiter is unwilling to work with him there should be another recruiter available and they are always looking for willing applicants.

Tell the recruiter for sure, don't lie about anything. Listen to what they tell you. They know the process and there job is to get you in.

Just to get you in, once you're in you're out of their hair unless you do something stupid.
