  1. It's the media.... they lost their face years ago anyway. Dont care really. That's that many more cookies and candy I get. ; )

  2. After being in for 20 years and a half dozens conflcts, 4 wars and a dozen deployments...h**l 'kid' is doesn't offend me compared to some of the things I've been called at home in Compton, CA, Infantry OSUT or even in Ranger School (George Carlin would even blush).

Naw, my skin is too thick and I am no 'leaf eater' lol. My old azz welcomes it at 37, plus I know I'm no baby goat.

  3. Most of the people saying this either have kids aged 18-34 or are old enough to have kids aged 18-34.

I'm almost 30 and I'm still young enough to be someone's grandson.

Bottom line?  It doesn't bug me at all.  They care, they believe in something, and that's commendable.  At least they're not calling us "baby killers" like in eras past.

  4. Eh, it just shows how ignorant they are about the real makeup of the military.  So, as soon as I read or hear someone calling us 'kids', I change the channel or click on a different link.  Ridiculous.

  5. I'd imagine pissed off!

  6. It never bothered me.  I wonder how they would feel if they knew what I called them?
