Military (air force) send off?

Question

my boyfriend is in the air force and he goes to iraq in december. Before him i knew nothing about the military. what do i do at the send off? what do people wear? i just want a jist of what it's like.

Hmmm. There is no answer for this.

I am married and have done 4 deployments since 9/11. For me its EXTREMELY hard on my wife, only once did she actually go and see me off. The other times we said our goodbyes at home in private and I got a ride from a friend to my unit. This helped her because she was at home to break down after I said goodbye, and it allowed me to focus on what I had to focus on.

Every time we have said goodbye tho, she has been unable to speak. It has never gotten easier, and this upcomign trip to Iraq for me wont been any easier, even tho it will be our 5th time in 6 years of marriage!!

Just do what comes natural, wear something respectable, not to dressy, not to trashy/revealing, and when he says he must go, let him. He will be back!
