When I ask how will the job's I choose from will be guaranteed, people always say get it in writing. Do I literally have my MEPS job councilor sign a piece of paper I bring or do I just ask him can I have it in writing, I don't know what to say.

  1. He won't give it to you in writing. He will refuse to give a guarantee in writing.

  2. Do not be such an innocent.  Once you are in they can change anything "for the good of the service."   Look for that clause in your contract.   And forget the guarantee.

  3. in writing means your enlistment contract.  if it ain't in there, you ain't getting it.

READ THE ENTIRE CONTRACT and do not be afraid to ask question or get clarification if you are confused.

  4. They will print out a contract with ship date, length of enlistment, MOS selected, and possibly first duty station. Make sure it is everything that you want before you sign and swear in.

  5. The military.......like any other agency (car dealership, morgage company etc ).....has a contract.....when you sign this contract that sets the rules for your relationship..... in that contract the government tells you what they MUST give you .....and that contract stipulates what you will do for them ..... if it is not clearly written in that contract...... the government does NOT have to give it to you no matter what the recruiter said or signed.....

The catch to this contract is......if for any reason you fail to qualify for the benefits the government promised you......they then can use you as they want.....

If the government promised you in writting in this contract that you will be airborne......they MUST give you the chance to be airborne......but if you fail jump school.....they then can use you anyplace they want

Before you sign the contract.....be sure everything you want is clearly written in that contract....... AND ALSO you need to know what that  contract says YOU must do..... for example : You will usually sign up for four years active duty..... but often the government will include four more years of "inactive" duty......which they can convert to "active" duty without your consent ; you end  up serving EIGHT YEARS ACTIVE DUTY if they want you

  6. The military never guarentees you a specific job.

They will guarentee you a slot in a AIT/Tech School/A School for a specific job.

It is up to you to pass the training.

If you fail your AIT/Tech School/A School , then they can send you to whatever school they want to.

Just make sure if you want a guarentted training slot for a specific job, that it is in your enlistment contract.

Then you will get a chance at that AIT/Tech School/A School.

Then it is up to you, if you pass or not.

    Then they

  7. get it in your contract and theyll honor it to the best of their ability.

Want airborne? get it in your contract. dont take the "ask for it in AIT" road

army will train you in any job you want if you get it.

If you get it in your contract and they dont fulfil it, then you have legal means and can take it to jag.
