  1. I'm sure at some point they all cry privately, mostly because of the sadness of it all, and because they miss their family.

  2. When I was a baby. Because I wanted something to eat.

  3. after 38 years in the Military and 2 failed Marriages nothing Fazes me anymore I never feel sorry for myself and unless they are connected to me in some way don't care about others I went to an ANZAC dawn service to remember my fallen mates and on the way home about 10 oclock in the morning a bunch of Young people in my street accused me of stealing My 6 medals .

    RIP "speedy"

  10. Almost two years ago when 3 soldiers in my platoon were killed by an IED attack.  The worst moment in my Army career.

  11. Things like the National Anthem and other stuff seem to hit me differently now that I am in and have been deployed, etc. Last time I cried, when my wife left last month for a year of Air Force training. Happy and sad tears at the same time I guess.

If this post was meant to see if military members are robots with no emotions and feelings, then let it be known we are the same as everyone else in that regards. We have learned to suck it up and press on and put service before self, which in itself will bring tears from time to time. (i.e. kissing your family good-bye the moment you get on a plane to deploy). That is a gut-check only those who have done it can understand.
