Military tour of duty length

What is the longest amount of tours of duty the U.S. military, mandated, has ever done (in months)? For instance, the typical required/mandated tour in Vietnam was two 9 month tours = 18 months.

Tour of duty..as in length of deployment..or time at a PDS?

longest deployment orders have been 15-18 months  with the occasional 2 year activation orders for individual Guard and Reservists.  

and even then, they can be extended with or without ORDMODs

I don't really understand your question, but I have friends that have done four 1 year tours in this war. I seriously doubt there is a limit set right now.
