Ok so I want to make a chocolate frosting and have found two that seems easy and all but one calls for evaporated milk while the other calls for regular milk. Now both recipes are exactly the same except for the part. My question is what will be the difference between th frostings? Will one be more smooth or thicker? Is there a difference at all?

  1. any time any recipe calls for milk or evaporated milk you can interchange them.  The evaporated milk will have a much richer taste and make it a little creamier.  I personally use evaporated milk in my frostings and in my mashed potatoes and a lot of other recipes that call for regular milk.  The only negative thing to it is that if I use regular milk it is usually 2% and the evaporated milk has a higher fat content.

I would go with the evaporated milk though. ENJOY!

  2. Evaporated milk will cause a richer taste.

  3. evaporated milk because it tastes creamier and better it has more taste
