Question:

Milk allergies in preschoolers?

I have a four year old daughter who as an infant was allergic to milk. She seemed to outgrow it after about a year or so, though she drinks it very rarely. Lately she has been running very high fevers & I realized yesterday that everytime she had a fever, it has come after drinking milk. Two days ago, she drank milk for the entire day. She ran fever all that night & even after the fever subsided, I noticed a very weird odor in her mouth that no amount of toothbrushing could get rid of. Yesterday, she started complaining that her v****a was hurting & today I discovered she has what looks to be a yeast infection. (strong odor, rash, white discharge). It also seems the odor in her mouth is actually from thrush. Could this all be connected to the large amount of milk she drank 2 days ago? She doesnt seem to react to ice cream or cheese, just milk. Is there anything I can do at home to treat her thrush & yeast infection?

  1. I'm an adult, but I have never been able to drink milk, I have different symptoms, cheese and yogurt are OK for me but I have trouble with ice cream, sometimes it just comes right back up. My problems are usually stuffy nose, rash, and throwing up.

  2. Milk is definitely the culprit for her.  milk causes all sort of allergies and with the hormones they are pumping the cows with (illegal in canada and other countries by the way - OK in the USA)... have her stay away... my kids drink rice milk... have her drink that and she'll still be able to eat cereal, cookies and milk, and anything else she has with milk.  I actually make my own.. there are tons of recipes on line, try them out and find one you like.. and them make it to your preference... my kids like chocolate, banana, and any other flavor I make it... they like it plain too.

Now, for the yeast - as crazy as this may sound - it works and there has been a lot of research on it.  Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV).  Not the commercial one... get the one like Braggs, Eden Organic, 365 (if you have a Whole Foods Market near you) - that's unfiltered.  Here's what you want to do...

Give her a bath.. into the bathwater pour 1 cup of ACV... make sure not to use any perfumed soaps or bubble baths or anything like that for a while... have her soak in the tub for a while and do this daily until she gets better... then you can do it weekly... alot of healing properties in this type of soak.

Have her drink an ACV drink.. Into a glass of water, pour 1 tablespoon of the ACV.  Stir it and have her drink it with a straw (so the acid doesn't affect her tooth enamel)... and no brushing of teach right after the drink.  She can drink this a couple times a day until it goes away.

There's a book you can buy called APPLE CIDER VINEGAR MIRACLE HEALTH SYSTEM (Braggs has it out in an eBook format on their website..I've listed them all below for you.)

There is also a website that has all natural cures and remedies - I've listed that for you too.

    Hope she feels better...

  3. PLEASE visit www.notmilk.com

SO many parents are SO unaware that milk is a major causing factor for allergies and LOTS of other health problems.

We are the only species that continues to drink milk after we are weined off the breast/ bottle. You don't see a cow drinking a womans breast milk. We should be drinking water! LOTS of it to flush out the toxins or every day living and environment.

The second question I get is well how do I make sure my child gets enough calcium....do they eat veggies? Do you make sure they have a balanced diet? If you feel unsure, a childs multi vitamin.

Okay, so for thrush & a yeast infection I would do a google search for natural remedies. Recently I heard Vinegar works. That might hurt her though.

Stay away from Milk, it's over rated.

  4. okay if milk caused it so would other dairy products. i am lactose intolerant. so any dairy will do it. i would try lactose free milk and if it continues then you know that is not the milk doing it. talk to her doctor also. let the doc.  know your concerns.
