Hi, I am having a problem producing milk like before. I have a 6 month old and since last week ( I was very stressed out for personal reasons). Im doing better now. I went from making four 6 oz bottles a day to ALMOST two six oz bottles a day. I want to make more for my son. I feed him by breast other times but when I go pump its not as much as before. Whats going on? And what should or could I do to increase more. I have been feeding like every two to three hours and at night its practically every hour (my son likes to drink overnight). What has lactacing women done to increase breast milk supply. Thank you and God bless! :)

  1. God bless YOU, you wonderful breast-feeding mommy! It takes a lot of dedication to do what you're doing.

I highly recommend trying Fenugreek. It's an herb that they sell at GNC. You have to take two capsules three or four times a day (it's not dangerous to your baby or to you, so don't worry).

I had the same issue and was never able to use my breastpump much, but the herb did help my milk production a lot. In fact, I had purchased 6 bottles of it 3-4 months ago, and still have about five of them because it was very effective! You know you are taking enough when your breastmilk smells like maple syrup. Weird, but true. :)

There are a very few people that it doesn't work for, but it's worth a try. Both of the sites I am listing for you are running sales. Or if you'd prefer, I can send you a couple of mine for free. (I want to keep a couple since I'm still breastfeeding my daughter.) Up  to you!!

    Blessings!! :)

  2. Fenugreek and mothers milk tea I have tried. You can pick them up both for around $20 bucks at a health food store. I heard oatmeal works too. Good luck

  3. this happened to me at around 6 months too...I just pumped and fed her all the time...and drank alot of water...my milk production has gone up now...whatever you do don't start to supplement with formula cause that will cut your supply way down....good luck

  4. Stress wont help you.. Relax... Drink plenty of milk yourself and fluids. Also you have to eat a healthy diet of eggs, lentils, beans and protein... Good luck..

  5. I know, that when you first start breastfeeding, your milk supply is supplying to much, but then your body starts getting used to how much is being had, but I think the fact you have  6 month old, I think maybe its because you have started weaning him?? You body will start reducing how much milk is supplied, as it doesnt need to do it any more, I take Sanatogen tablets, designed for women trying to get pregnant, women who are pregnant, and breastfeeding women, it has all the right vitamins in it, that your body needs, (iron which is needed for breastfeeding women, as it is taken from you a lot) just make sure you are eating your veg and fruit, and carbohydrates, and drinking a pint of milk a day (my health visitor recommended to me, full fat too) remember if its your second or third etc, your milk doesnt come as much, as your body is used to it, but the baby is still getting it, you just dont leak.

Sorry for the long post, lol, good for you breastfeeding, maybe ask your health visitor for some professional advice, she should deff be able to tell you x x x
