Milk tasted weird but I drank it anyway?

My mom bought a carton of milk yesterday and it was kept in our refrigerator. It was properly sealed (I think). When I opened it I immediately thought that it smells weird (the smell was slightly stronger then it should have been).

When I drank some it tasted the same as hot milk - you know, if you heat some milk and drink it it tastes differently than cold one, right? So my COLD milk tasted like HOT milk - that it is, it had a stronger taste (and was really STRIKINGLY similar in taste to the heated, warm milk).

I've drank about 3/4 of the carton and am fine but my sister has drank some right now and she also thought it tasted differently.

Was the milk off? The best before date was 24.08.2008. Are we going to get a diarrhea or something?

What kind of milk was it? I've had milk before that tasted stronger, but it turned out that it was just a different kind I was used to.

(might've been organic, or lactaid, or...well something different from regular whole milk)

Do not eat or drink anything that tastes funny or different than normal. For your own safety. Bring it back to the store w/receipt and either exchange it or get your money back!
