Something with a neck long enough to reach. ..... NOT humans....something more like deer, gnus, or wildebeest ?

  1. You most often see self-suckling happening in domestic dairy cows.  Cows that were weaned too young, and never got over the urge to suckle.  It is an abnormal behavior, brought about by stressful, and abnormal living conditions for the cows.  

    On YouTube they have videos of such cows.

    Animals in the wild do not do this behavior.
