  1. 1. Start with a clean bucket.  An ice cream bucket is perfect.

    2. Make sure you have clean hands.  Those anti-bacterial Handi-Wipes are great--can close the container with one hand.

    3. Tie up the goat, or have a helper hold onto her.  Put a feeder with some feed in front of her to distract her.

    4. Use one of the Handi-wipes (not the one from wiping your hands) to wipe off the teats.

5.Start at the base of the teat, and squeeze the milk out.  Repeat until the udder is empty.

    6. Apply teat dip.  This keeps germs from getting up into the udder, and can be found at the local farm supply store.

After milking, put the milk into a clean container and refrigerate.  Wash the bucket you were using.

Repeat this process in about 12 hours.

Machine milking is possible, but the psi on the compressor has to be turned down.  It's also not very cost-effective for only one or two animals.

  2. milk a cow the old fashioned way instead hah!

Dont use the machines though do it the

old fashioned, and nicer, way and do it by hand!
