Mill Goofy with bright chances in the Stadium Bookmakers Stayers Trophy on 27th February
Nottingham is to stage the Stadium Bookmakers Stayers Trophy on Monday, 27th February. It will be raced over 680 metres flat by six hounds who will reel in for the wire in order to get entitled to the £200 prize money.
Mill Goofy, Westmead Hawk’s three-year-old brindle and white daughter out of b***h Farloe Me, has already struck two victories during the new season. She shot off with the 2012 campaign by coming sixth in a Grade A4 500 metres race on 7th January
at Nottingham.
On 14th January, Mill Goofy won a 305 metres race, leading by 4 ¾ lengths and clocking the distance in 18.66 seconds. Naughty Jessie was the runner up of the race.
She was entered as a favourite in the last three starts that she made. Mill Goofy was the 2/1 favourite runner up on 21st January in a Grade A4 500 metres race that she finished in 30.96 seconds. The race was won by Roatan Rose.
She then came second in the Grade A4 Greyhound Sporting League – Leg 5 on 10th February at Nottingham. The 5/4 favourite made it across the wire in 31.28 seconds behind the winner Is That Yourself, who led by three lengths.
On 21st February, Mill Goofy finally took charge of the track and won the Grade A4 500 metres flat at Nottingham. Entered as a 5/4 favourite, she went through the track distance in 31.20 seconds and led by a staggering 6 ¼ lengths.
There is a high probability that Mill Goofy will get entered in the race as a favourite fourth time in a row and record the third win of the season.
Another interesting entry for the race is Bringthemhome, Balintore Brave’s three-year-old black son out of b***h Ahavoher Rachel. The three-year-old scored the second start of the new season by winning the Grade A1 500 metres flat race on 13th
January at Nottingham.
He was on the other side of the wire in 30.73 seconds, leading by ¾ of a length. The 9/4 favourite of the race, Salacres Sparky, finished the race fourth after the winner.
His most recent start was in the Molson Coors Super Stayers Trophy on 20th February at Nottingham. He was second against the 4/7 favourite of the race, Conkon, who led by a length.
