Mill Hercules geared up to annihilate opposition in Carlsberg Trophy at Sunderland
Mill Hercules has the speed to win vital tussle for early supremacy and if he succeeds in doing so, no hound will be able to stop him from bagging the big prize in the Carlsberg Trophy at Sunderland on Wednesday, August 29th.
He is performing quite consistently these days. After clinching a comprehensive win at Nottingham, the black dog went to Newcastle with an aim to produce similar results. But the situation was completely different at the new venue, where he was third behind
Skate On in a short-distance race.
He was an unlucky loser in his recent appearance at Sunderland last week. He got crowded twice in the early stages, but despite going through plenty of mess, the son of Black Shaw did not lose determination, and managed to secure a place among top-3.
Taking an early lead is the only thing, he needs to thrive today. Among his rivals are: Citizen Saga, Droopys Rory, Debs Aglish, Lefanta Jo and Croom Paddy. The 450 metres flat race carries a handsome cash prize worth £300, and will be kicked off at 20:58
GMT.
Citizen Saga contested the Puppy Plate final, and would be a threat today. The blue dog was not impressive on his return to this track though, as he could only secure the third position last week. The red box is a massive advantage for J. Brannan’s trainee,
and it will be interesting to see how he handles the situation.
Droopys Rory must stay in touch early, and will keep on well. He certainly needs a slice of luck to regain his momentum after two embarrassing defeats, he suffered respectively at Coventry and Nottingham.
Lefanta Jo has not been breaking as well as he can. So, one needs to look elsewhere for the champion. Debs Aglish needs to slip clear in order to do something special. Similarly, it is hard to see Croom Paddy taking home the gold.
Citizen Saga has a significant role to play, but the punters should stay with Mill Hercules, who will not face much trouble in crushing this line-up. Good luck to all the runners.
