Millimeters into feet?

I'm really confused.. I have to use Dimensional Analysis to transform Millimeters to feet.

550 mm = ____ ft.

55cm = 0.55m

1m = 3.28 ft

0.55m = 3.28*0.55 = 1.8 ft

here is how you use dimensional analysis.

first you need the conversion factors, say

2.54 cm per inch

10 mm per cm

12 inches/ft

you arrange your terms, multiplying or dividing so that the units cancel and you end up with ft.

550 mm x 1cm/10mm x 1 inch/2.54cm x 1 ft/12 inches = 1.8 ft.

note that the mm cancels, cm cancels, inch cancels, leaving ft.
