Millionreasonswhy holds a visible advantage in the Adirondack Stakes to be run at Saratoga 14 August
The undefeated 2-year-old filly Millionreasonswhy will try to extend her winning streak in the upcoming $150,000 Grade 2 Adirondack Stakes on 14 August, 2011, at the Saratoga racecourse.
Trained by Ignacio Correas IV for Sagamore Farm, Millionreasonswhy is coming off an impressive win in the Grade 2 Marton Stakes held at Belmont Park on 3 July, 2011.
The race was run over at a distance of 6 furlongs for 2-year-old fillies, as Millionreasonswhy under jockey J Velazquez romped home defeating her rivals Say A Novena and Dancing Anna to win her first graded stakes win and it took her 1 minute and 12.68 seconds
to cover the 6 furlong sprint.
The daughter of Grand Slam, out of In Secure by A. P. Indy, Millionreasonswhy broke her maiden on 12 June, 2011, in her first attempt on dirt at Colonial Downs over at a distance of 5 ½ furlongs. She covered the distance in a fast 1 minute and 6.10 seconds.
A handy win at the Belmont Park last month will aid the younger filly to take her winning momentum in the Adirondack Stakes, where five other fillies will be waiting to grind it out to win the Saratoga fixture.
Sent at the odds of 6 to 1, Millionreasonswhy wasn’t considered as a threat in the Grade 2 Marton Stakes and her presence was overlooked.
In the field of six, Millionreasonswhy trailed the lot in the 6 furlong dash, but jockey J Velazquez guided the filly on the outside after the turn and she launched and all out assault, wearing down the pace setter Say Novena and winning the race by two
lengths.
The time around at Saratoga, the company will definitely be different and at this stage of her career where she is in the take off mode, experience matters the most for her. She has shown in the Marton that she can run off the pace, and in a tough field
a tough filly with that asset can assert authority at any point of the race.
New Wave, Bellacourt, Funny Proposition, My Miss Aurelia and the W I Mott Anna Sophia will complete the 6 filly field on 14 August for the Grade 2 Adirondack Stakes.
