Millitary Special Forces Qualifications?

Achieve a General Technical score of 110 or higher and a combat operation score of 98 on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery.Does this mean i have to get a 98 on the asvab? And what is the general Technical score?

  1. Your General Technical and Combat score are separate scores that are an evaluation from your ASVAB test. There are 10 different line scores (GT, ELEC, FOOD, TECH, ADMIN, FA, COMMO, CMBT, MECH, MAINT). After taking the ASVAB these line scores tell us recruiters and guidance counselors which jobs you will qualify for. Every job has a minimal requirement of one or a combination of your line scores. We don't need someone who has trouble identifying the difference between a wrench and a screwdriver working on a $24 million dollar helicopter!

    Your general technical score (GT), is exactly what is says.... your general knowledge of all areas. This score is looked at more often. OCS, WOFT, SF, all have to score a 110 or higher. And no, you do not need to score a 98 on the overall test, but it is good to shoot for the best score possible!
