Millwards Matt targeting hat trick through the Coral On TV Puppy Trophy – Heat 1 at Romford
The line-up for the first heat of the Coral On TV Puppy Trophy is highly competitive and versatile with two entries aiming a hat trick through today’s race and the rest are recently trained. The 400 metres race will be held at Romford on Monday, 23rd
April with the £150 prize money.
Taking up the challenge today are Strawberry Hall, Junes Deezy, Sharons Return, Bush Standard, Millwards Matt and Ayamzabeauty. The most convincing entry for the race is Millwards Matt, Big Daddy Cool’s two-year-old black son out of b***h, Hondo Lass.
From the five outings during the new season, Millwards Matt has won at three occasions. His seasonal debut was on 26th March in a 420 metres race at Peterborough which was won by Dudleys Viking who took 25.97 seconds to race through the wire.
Millwards Matt scored second.
He did not wait very long for posting a victory as on 2nd April he took 25.66 seconds to complete the 420 metres trip at Peterborough. Barging in for the wire at a mere neck’s difference was Dudleys Viking.
As if taking turns on losing and winning races, the third career start of Millwards Matt was won by Dudleys Viking on 10th April after he settled the 400 metres distance at Romford in 24.59 seconds. The runner up had to compromise on the victory
by a minor head’s differential.
After the second loss of the career, Millwards Matt won the last two races that came his way. His second victory of the season was on 17th April in a 400 metres race at Romford that the winner timed in 24.66 seconds. He led the runner up, Dandy
Dude, by 1 ¼ lengths.
The most recent race and success came Millwards Matt’s way on 20th April when he won the Coral.Co.UK Maidens at Romford over 400 metres. He reached the other end of the wire in 24.15 seconds while it took the runner up, Islas Boy, 24.53 seconds
to join the winner and leap through the 4 ¾ lengths’ gap.
The 11/4 favourite, Bank Bailout, finished fifth behind the winner.
He has quite high chances of making it beyond the wire before any other hound on the line-up but he will need to stay alert and vigilant throughout due to the line-up that is very highly accomplished.
