Milos Teodosic, Omer Onan, Gianluca Basile: Top players from Euroleague’s November 16 games – Part 1
Five games took place in the 2011-12 Turkish Airlines Euroleague regular season on November 16, 2011. Here is a brief review of some of the noticeable performances on the night:
CSKA Moscow vs. Unicaja
Milos Teodosic
Former Euroleague MVP Milos Teodosic was the key in CSKA Moscow’s 77-66 win over Unicaja in a Group B game at the Universal Sports Hall. The Serbian player topped all scorers with 19 points and also dished out four assists, as
CSKA became the first of Turkish Airlines Euroleague team to record five victories this season.
The shooting guard scored six of his points in an 8-0 run late in the second period that helped Moscow take a 34-29 lead at halftime. On the night, Teodosic was 4 for 6 from two-point range, 2 for 7 from three-point range and 5
for 5 from free throw line.
Andrei Kirilenko
It was another great performance from Andrei Kirilenko. The 6 ft 9 in small forward had a strong all-around game with 17 points, nine rebounds, six steals, three blocks and two assists. AK-47, pinned 12 of 13 free throws in 35
minutes of action.
Nenad Krstic
Nenad Krstic racked up 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds for his team and ended on a 6 for 11 shooting from two-point range.
Joel Freeland
Joel Freeland came off the bench to score a team-high 14 points on 5 for 12 shooting from two-point range and 4 for 4 from free throw line. The 24-year-old also grabbed nine rebounds and stole the ball two times.
Tremmell Darden
Tremmell Darden added 13 points and grabbed five rebounds in the losing effort. Darden hit 4 for 7 from two-point range and pinned 2 of 2 free throws.
Fenerbahce Ulker vs. Bennet Cantu
Omer Onan
Omer Onan got some decent minutes on Wednesday night and responded with a game-high 18 points as Fenerbahce Ulker edged Bennet Cantu 85-83 in overtime. Onan stole the ball twice in more than 35 minutes and ended on a 5 for 9 from
two-point range and 5 for 5 from free throw line.
Thabo Sefolosha
Thabo Sefolosha pounded 14 points, clutched seven rebounds and two steals in Ulker’s third consecutive victory. Sefolosha posted 10 of his points from the two-point range and did not miss even a single free throw, hitting 4 for
4.
Gianluca Basile / Nicolas Mazzarino
Guards Gianluca Basile and Nicolas Mazzarino led Bennet Cantu with 12 points each. Basile also grabbed four rebounds and dished out two assists and hit 6 for 6 from free throw line while Mazzarino shot 2 for 4 from down town.
