Milton Bradley avoids criminal charges in a recent case
Things are starting to look positive for Seattle Mariners’ player, Milton Bradley. The outfielder had been convicted of threatening a woman in his residence in Encino, California, and was subsequently arrested.
The woman has now been identified as the player’s wife and the charges against the player have been dismissed in a recent press report. The incident that had taken place in January is looking to fall off the charts as Bradley’s attorney has issued a statement
to give an update on the matter.
Milton’s attorney, Harland Braun, recently said that the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office have decided not to pursue the case or charge the player, altogether.
The press has gone ahead to quote the City Attorney's office, on the matter that has caught much attention in Seattle. Spokesperson of the office, Frank Mateljan, was quoted on the matter, "We felt a criminal charge was not warranted at this time".
However, the matter will still have to come up as both the player and his wife will need to attend a hearing with the City Attorney’s office on 9 March, 2011.
Harland Braun spoke of the meeting generally in his statement:
"As is customary in domestic cases, the City Attorney's Office has scheduled a private meeting with Milton and his wife to make sure that this type of misunderstanding does not occur again.
Milton and his wife and children all reside together as a family and request that the media respect their wish that the matter remain personal and private”.
General Manager of the Mariners, Jack Zduriencik, has voiced his support for the player and is eager to see the position player in spring training, on the 18
February, 2011.
The player is entering the final year of his $12 million contract and he’s set to compete with Michael Saunders for a position in the left field.
