Milwaukee Brewers' Ryan Braun tests positive in drug test, hearing set for January -MLB Update
Major League Baseball (MLB) faced a setback as the Milwaukee Brewers’ leftfielder, Ryan Braun, reportedly tested positive in a performance enhancing drug test for a banned substance and to some reports, the testosterone level in the players blood was in
very high levels.
The 28-year-old and former MLB Most Valuable Player (MVP) has certainly been criticised by people all over not only the major league but also from the public as well since they did not expect a player of his capabilities to be in the use of such drugs.
After learning about the news, Brewers principle owner, Mark Attanasio, released a statement expressing his views on the player and the situation in all which included a good review of Braun along with having confidence in the testing procedure of the MLB.
"MLB has put a confidential testing program into place, which I personally support, that has a specific review process that must be followed before determining whether a player is in violation. Ryan has issued a statement that there are highly unusual circumstances
surrounding this case that will support his complete innocence and demonstrate that there was absolutely no intentional violation of the program. We are dealing with an incomplete set of facts and speculation. Before there is a rush to judgment, Ryan deserves
the right to be heard.”
One thing in defence for the Brewers’ player of the past five seasons is that no steroid or performance enhancing drug of any kind was found in his system, but rather it was something to do with the extremely high level of testosterone in his body which
is not produced naturally in sense which is actually in question.
When Braun was contacted, he let the media know that he was innocent and had not used any such substance in any way along with terming the test turning out positive due to “highly unusual circumstances”.
It is not clear at the moment what the MLB will decide for Ryan Braun in the upcoming days, but it will only come out in the open after he is given a chance to talk back during a hearing set for later in January.
