Milwaukee Brewers’ Ron Roenicke may get contract extension – MLB News
The Milwaukee Brewers’ manager Ron Roenicke’s contract extension is said to be under consideration, reports suggested on Sunday, February 26. The manager who had signed two-year contract with the club in 2011 has already entered in the last year of the contract.
The reports in the print media referred to the fact that both principal owner Mark Attanasio and general manager Doug Melvin are currently considering extending the contract. As to what will be the time period for the extension has not been made public yet.
However, with the positive news making the rounds on Sunday, there was a sense of relief in the club that is also considering the significance his stay with the team at this juncture has. As for the manager himself, he asserts he wants to do be a part of the team for an extended period.
"Obviously, I want to do this for a long time, and I really feel blessed at the position and the place I am in now," Roenicke said. "I know it took a while for me to get the opportunity, but sometimes we want to push things to have them happen earlier than what they are meant to be.”
Roenicke was enthused and filled with satisfaction as far as his last year’s contract with the Brewers was concerned. This aspect was something that he alluded to while talking about the contract that he had signed in 2011.
Roenicke said, "The timing was right last year, the place was right. It's better that I don't try to control things. There's a bigger power that's going to control my life that I need to let happen."
The manager’s being with the team holds much weight due largely to his ability to galvanise the Brewers into becoming the National League Division Champions the past season with the absolutely amazing performance.
This was after 28 years that the Brewers had won the National League title; something that will continue to make them proud. To repeat the same display this year, it is ever important that Ron Roenicke be part of the team, overseeing the club’s potential march to success in the days to come.
