Milwaukee Brewers Ryan Braun's drug test a result of reported private medical issue -MLB Update
The Milwaukee Brewers player who was reported to have failed a drug test earlier last week was on the line to face a 50-game suspension when the hearing takes place between Major League Baseball (MLB) and the player later on in January.
In latest developments, Ryan Braun was not reported to have tested positive for any performance enhancing drug or any sort of steroid use but instead, it was a unnatural level of testosterone in his system which put suspicion on the player and indicated
that something was not right, but now it had also been uncovered that his abnormal show of testosterone was due to an undisclosed medical condition he faces.
The medication he is using is also indicated to have caused such levels of testosterone in his system due to which Braun was saying that the test was not taken in a suspected manner and it was out of the blue.
Ryan Braun’s attorney, David Cronwell, who is a representative of the player form the CAA Sports agency, terms this as a breach of confidentiality and defamation to the players’ name.
"Confidentiality was breached here, and I think we will find -- I fully expect to be able to demonstrate that Ryan did not violate the substance policy of Major League Baseball," Cornwell told CNN. "And consequently, we shouldn't be dealing with this discussion
at all, but at a minimum, I urge everybody to keep an open mind and give us the chance to make our case in private."
Assistant general manager, Gord Ash, when reached for comment on the situation, failed to give a satisfactory answer.
"As bizarre as it may sound, we don't know anything," Ash said. "Nobody should have known anything at this point."
Ryan Braun is one of the top players in the National League and losing him for a 50-game period would certainly be a loss for the Milwaukee Brewers who are focused on changing things around the upcoming 2012 MLB regular season.
In upcoming days the situation is expected to clear up as the dust will settle and further details will be released.
