Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun eyeing Game 1 against Arizona Diamondbacks – MLB News
The Milwaukee Brewers will face the resurgent Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday, October 1 in Game 1 of National League Division Series at Miller Park.
The Brewers will have Ryan Braun at their disposal to take on the Diamondbacks’ defence.
Milwaukee is attaching significant importance and great hopes to this All-Star left-fielder. Coupled with Prince Fielder, Braun has done the seemingly impossible for the Brewers since the start of the season, reviving the hopes for the team to win the National
League Central crown. The last time Brewers did it was in 1982 when they won the American League East.
There is no denying the fact that were it not for the tremendous efforts of Braun since the commencement of the season, there would be little the Brewers could achieve. Having played 150 games of the season, the 27-year-old left-fielder has been the most
effective instrument at the Brewers’ disposal.
563 at-bats, Ryan Braun has scored a total of 109 runs in the season so far. Add to it the fact that he has no less than 33 home-runs, having had 187 hits with 111 RBIs with .397 OBP. With his career average standing at .332, Braun has a long way to go in
achieving glory for his team, if he stays.
He remains first in the National League with a .994 OPS, first in SLG with .597 and second with 109 runs while the overall ranking of Ryan Braun stands at third.
For Braun, the goal first and foremost, was to bring the team where it stands today. His performance during the regular season helped take the Brewers to new heights.
"You work all year to get to this point," said Braun. "You put in your work starting the middle of February with one goal in mind: Get to the playoffs. And now that we've accomplished the first part of that goal, we're excited to get started."
With having done so much, Ryan Braun is now expected to give the required to inspire and energize the team into winning what is going to be a tough series against the Diamondbacks.
