Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun favorite for NL Most Valuable Player Award – MLB News
Milwaukee Brewers’ out-fielder Ryan Braun is currently the favourite for the National League’s Most Valuable Player Award as he continues to exhibit his brilliant hitting skills. Braun has a .332 batting average which makes him a definite favourite for the
Award.
But if anyone who is not surprised by this meteoric rise of the player, it is Ryan Braun’s father: Joe Braun. Having seen the talent in his son from childhood, he recalls how Braun matured into a seasoned player.
For Joe, who himself has attended more than 50 games of the Milwaukee Brewers the whole season, he knows what his son is capable of. Neither Joe himself nor his son is complacent. Ever more of a perfectionist, as his father describes, Ryan Braun is capable
of more and certainly wants to show what he has got as one of the best hitters out there in baseball.
"Nothing surprises me that he does," Joe Braun said. "Is he at the top of his game right now?”
If one looks at the last seven days performance of Braun, it alone serves as the best evidence of this player’s excellence. Remaining 18 at-bats, he has seven hits, having scored three runs, one of which is a home-run with a striking .389 average.
In October, with 26 at-bats he has an average of .500 with seven runs to his credit, two of which are home-runs, having had 13 hits so far. That came when he had an average of .332 in the regular season with 33 home-runs, having had 111 RBIs and 187 hits
at 563 at-bats.
Ryan Braun owes a lot to his father. The fact that his he has commanded immense respect all his life, he personally thinks that his father has constituted a more powerful influence than anyone else.
"I think he's probably been more influential in my career than anybody else, just in how supportive he's been, how much he's encouraged me and how much he's taught me," Ryan Braun said of his father. "He never played the game, didn't play any sports or anything
like that growing up.”
Joe Braun is credited to having coached his son. Having climbed a stage which is grand and illuminating, Ryan Braun continues to touch the bigger heights. As the best-of-seven series proceeds with a lot of excitement accompanying it, Braun is expected to
thrill the fans with his characteristically big hits.
Whether or not he wins the NL MVP Award, Braun has is having a tremendous season with the Brewers. His performance may be enough to help Milwaukee get the ultimate prize of the World Series this year.
