Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun might face 50-game suspension – MLB News
On being tested positive for Performance-Enhancing Drug (PED) on Saturday, the Milwaukee Brewers’ star left-fielder Ryan Braun is likely to face 50-game suspension despite many speculations around as he certainly will avoid the penalty on flawed lab results
which have created so much ambiguity among the masses.
The Major League Baseball authorities, who have stricken the PED rules in 2004, now going to take hard actions against anyone they find guilty.
The Brewers’ management along with Braun himself still resisting on the late positive drug results but according to experts, the possibility of avoiding suspension is not probable for the Milwaukee star.
Since the MLB officials are taking the issue serious and pretty convinced that no Major League player has ever avoided the suspension after testing positive for banned drugs.
Earlier, the Brewers’ principal owner Mark Attanasio also commented on Braun’s situation and released a statement and tried to convey the point in his support. He also supported MLBs drug policy and emphasised on organisation to take serious efforts to fix
the late problems that is coming with the lab results.
Attanasio said, “Ryan Braun has been a model citizen in every sense of the word, both in the Milwaukee community and for the Brewers. Since joining our organization in 2005, he has been a person of character and integrity. MLB has put a confidential testing
program into place, which I personally support, that has a specific review process that must be followed before determining whether a player is in violation. Ryan has issued a statement that there are highly unusual circumstances.”
Though, these comments of Attanasio carry some weight and make little sense but a detailed press conference from Ryan Braun is yet to come and until then, people who are anxious to know all the details, still have to wait for that particular press session
regarding all the facts behind the issue.
On a contrary note for Ryan Braun’s indulgence with PED in order to enhance the level of productivity, the fact will remain that this is pure cheating and one who commits it should be punished in every manner.
